Therapeutic Role of Crinum glaucum Bulb against Haematological and Hepatic Enzyme Alterations in a Rat Model


 Aims: Several parts of medicinal plants have been known to many health benefits. One those is the Crinum glaucum (CG) bulb. Therefore, this research was undertaken investigate therapeutic role an aqueous extract CG bulb (aeCGb) against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced haematological and hepatic enzyme alterations in male female rat models.
 Study Design Methodology: Twenty-five twenty-five rats were divided randomly into five groups (n = 5) each. Group 1 control group. 2 administered with 1000 mg/kg body weight aeCGb. 3 exposed 4 ml/kg LPS for hours. (4 hours) 5 aeCGb The albumin, total protein, bilirubin, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate alkaline phosphatase, gamma-glutamyl transferase (hepatic enzyme) concentrations parameters analysed spectrophotometrically.
 Results: hallmark its ability decrease concentration enzymes levels parameters, as observed. direct bilirubin significantly (P≤ .05) increased aeCGb-treated groups. However, treatment reverses damaging effect on concentration.
 Conclusion: results suggest that has a LPS-induced by correcting function well regulating parameters.
